Q. What is the difference between `tonnes` and `cubic meters`?
A. For products that are unaffected by water (eg. gravel), are measured in tonnes, while products that differ significantly in weight when water/rain is added (eg. mulch), are measured in cubic meters. This ensures that the customer will pay for the product and not the water that may be held within the product.
Q. Are delivery costs calculated using tonnes or cubic meters?
A. Delivery costs are calculated by weight using tonnes. For products that are measured by volume (eg. cubic meters), an estimate of weight is used to convert the volume to a weight purely for the purpose of calculating the delivery cost. In this instance, the product itself is not charged by weight.
Q. Can I do mixed loads?
A. Yes, you are able to mix loads, however there may be some mixing of products upon delivery. Therefore to minimise the possibility of mixing, we only allow 2 products to be mixed up to a total of 3 units, where a unit can be either a tonne or cubic metre. See the delivery page for more information.
